On Saturday, November 21st, Mayor Dawn Zimmer was� sworn in as the 38th Mayor of the City of Hoboken. The ceremony took place at Hoboken High School. After the inauguration, guests enjoyed cider and a cake created by Hoboken’s “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro at a reception in Columbus Park.

The Hoboken Public Library is proud to announce a Housing Fair which will take place at the Library on Wednesday, November 18th� 2009. Over a dozen government, non-profit and counseling organizations specializing in housing issues will be available on site to answer questions related to housing options, foreclosure mediations and assistance, credits and loans, and an array of other housing topics. U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development approved counselors and non-profit assistance groups will be on-site to provide assistance in both English and Spanish.
Hoboken and Hudson County Residents are invited to join us any time between 11am and 2pm on Wednesday, November 18th on the second floor of the Hoboken Public Library, 500 Park Avenue, Hoboken, NJ.

Mayor Dawn Zimmer took part in a Veterans Day ceremony at the entrance of Pier A on� Wednesday, November 11th. The event honored Hoboken�s veterans along with those presently serving our nation in the armed forces. In addition, a ceremony unveiling a plaque which cites Pier A as the point of embarkation for soldiers during World War I also took place. Pictured with the Mayor are Hoboken veterans Vincent Wassman and Ernest Prudente.�
Second graders from the Elysian Charter School met with Mayor Dawn Zimmer (center with children) outside the CVS on 14th Street to celebrate the display of their art work in the store windows. The children’s art work was part of the Artists Studio Tour which took place on October 18th.
As part of its ongoing efforts to help protect residents against the spread of the H1N1 Swine Flu virus, Mayor Dawn Zimmer announced today that the City of Hoboken has distributed nearly 5,000 vaccines to health care providers in the community. Health & Human Services Director Leo Pellegrini, who co-chairs Hoboken’s H1N1 Swine Flu Task Force, also announced that the City is finalizing plans to hold free public clinics for residents at the Hoboken University Medical Center (HUMC).�
Immediately following the certification today of the results of the Tuesday, November 3rd election, Dawn Zimmer was sworn in as Mayor of Hoboken. Effective simultaneously, she has resigned as 4th Ward Councilperson. A public ceremony will be held next weekend. Details will be announced early next week.
