Hoboken City Council Seeks Applicants to Fill Zoning Board Vacancies

Applicants Also Sought for All Other City Boards and Commissions

The Hoboken City Council, the sole appointing authority for the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA), seeks to fill five regular vacancies and four possible alternate vacancies at its January 7th meeting, to serve as a member of the Hoboken Board of Zoning Adjustment. Applicants who would like to be considered by the Council for one of these seats must submit a notarized application to the City Clerk no later than December 30, 2013.

On Wednesday, December 11th at 7pm, the City Council will host an open house, information session, at the City Council Chambers, 94 Washington Street, for interested candidates to the ZBA.

U.S. Senate Special Primary Election is Today

Today is the U.S. Senate special primary election in New Jersey. Voting is open to registered Democrats and Republicans as well as unaffiliated registered voters who register with a party at the polls. Polls are open until 8:00pm. Find your polling location here.

UPDATE (11/27/12): The Hudson County Clerk has updated the election results to include provisional and mail-in ballots.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 6th, 2012. Polls are open from 6am until 8pm. Use the polling location locators from the City of Hoboken or the NJ Department of State to find your polling location or text your address to 877-877. View a sample ballot.

The Hop will be operating and free on Election Day. Look for the school buses! Red Hop will go to North Ferry, not Hoboken Terminal.

Reminder: Community Meeting For 1600 Park/Hoboken Cove & Emergency Special Council Meeting Scheduled For Tonight


The City of Hoboken will host the first public meeting on January 10, 2011 to solicit community input on the design of two parks in northern Hoboken � 1600 Park and Hoboken Cove. The meeting will be held from 7-9pm at the Rue School gymnasium, 301 Garden Street, NOT at the Wallace School. Residents may attend at any time to provide their input.

Mayor Dawn Zimmer has called for an Emergency Special Meeting of the Hoboken City Council to consider the authorization of Temporary Appropriations for Calendar Year 2011. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 10, 2011 at 8 p.m. in City Council Chambers. The agenda and resolution is available on the City website.
