This department plans and executes a wide range of community events throughout the year to promote the Arts, theater, family and music activities. Our diverse programming is designed to appeal to the entire community and bring people together. We also provide assistance to local organizations for their annual Hoboken events.

Movies Under the Stars -

Special screening just added: On the Waterfront,
Fri. Aug. 20th, 8pm at Pier A Park, free, bring a blanket
35 mm projection on a huge 40 ft. screen

These FREE Outdoor Movie Screenings overlooking the beautiful Hudson River. All viewing takes place in Pier A Park, on the park’s Great Lawn. The park is located on First and Frank Sinatra Drive.

Spaghetti Dinner Block Party - Tickets now on sale.

Thursday, Sept. 2nd, 5pm to 8pm; takes place along the walkway on Sinatra Drive
bet. 1st & 2nd Streets.  Lots of great food, live music & family atmosphere.

Fall Arts & Music Festival: Sunday Oct. 3rd, 2010
Washington St. bet. Observer Hwy. & 7th St. Featuring three stages of live music
and over 300 artists, sculptors, photographers and craftspeople.

Artists Studio Tour: Nov. 6 & 7, 2010

Free self-guided walking tour of artists’ studio and community gallery spaces.
from noon until 6pm. Tour guides will be available at City Hall on the day of the tour.

Family Fun Nights -

Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse in partnership with the City of Hoboken and Downtown Boathouse of New York City will host free Kayaking Days throughout the summer at  Maxwell Place Park near the intersection of Sinatra Drive and Maxwell Place.  Click link for Schedule

These FREE Outdoor Performances will be held at two distinct waterfront parks. Select viewings take place in the Shipyard Park, located at 13th Street & McFeeley Drive. (behind Kings Supermarket) as well as at the Frank Sinatra Park Amphitheater located on Franks Sinatra Drive between 4th and 5th Streets.

Sunday October 31, Begins at 1pm Line of march begins at 12:15pm on Washington Street bet. 13th & 14th Street featuring bands, floats and more. Followed by costume contest at Little League Field on 5th St. & River Terrace. Prizes awarded in five age categories.

Holiday Tree Lighting - New date TBA

Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010; begins at 5:30pm; In front of City Hall; includes performances by local school children, Elvis the Elf & an appearance by Santa Claus

Holiday Crafts Fair - New date TBA

Saturdays & Sundays in December; from 11am to 5pm;
Hoboken City Hall, 94 Washington Street, all 3 floors;

featuring an eclectic mix of beautiful handcrafted gift items.
