This department plans and executes a wide range of community events throughout the year to promote the Arts, theater, family and music activities. Our diverse programming is designed to appeal to the entire community and bring people together. We also provide assistance to local organizations for their annual Hoboken events.

Fall Arts & Music Festival - Celebrating our 21st Anniversary
Sun., Sept. 28, 2014 • 11:00am-6:00pm

Washington St. between Observer Hwy. & 7th St.

Over 300 artists, crafters and more. Great food.
Kids area on 3rd Street. 3 stages of live performances.
Featuring legendary singer Darlene Love,

Harvest Festival
Sat., October 18 2014 • 11am-3pm; Pier A Park, 1st St. & Sinatra Dr.
Hay rides, a hay maze, pony rides, petting zoo, moonwalk, face painting, pumpkin painting, balloon art, craft activities, soccer, dance & gymnastic demos, live music & dance and much more.

Ragamuffin Parade
Fri. Oct. 31, 2014; Parade begins at 4pm
Line of march setup for the parade is
on Washington St. & 13th Streets beginning at 3pm;
Costume contest at Little League Field
on 5th St. & River Terrace.
Prizes awarded for best costumes.

Artists Studio Tour 2014

Free self-guided walking tour of artists’ studios and community gallery spaces.
Pick up maps at City Hall on the day of the tour, located at 94 Washington St.

City Hall Holiday Crafts Fair 2014

 - enter through Newark St.
Three floors of Unique handcrafted gift items for that special someone.

Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse in partnership with the City of Hoboken and Downtown Boathouse of New York City will host free Kayaking Days throughout the summer at Maxwell Place Park near the intersection of Sinatra Drive and Maxwell Place.

3rd Sundays: Hoboken Monthly Gallery Walk -
Next Gallery Walk is Sun. Feb. 16, 2014
Occurring on the third Sunday of each month from 2 to 6 pm,
ten galleries and art spaces around Hoboken will hold special events and receptions in a coordinated tour de force. 3rd Sundays will highlight the work of local, regional and international artists. You will find a wealth of fantastic art in spaces whose atmospheres range from sophisticated to funky. Whatever your taste in fine art, you are sure to find something you love.

Art on the Fence: An Outdoor Mural Project
Featuring the work of 20 local artists
Takes place on 11th St. from Hudson St. to Maxwell Lane and 11th & Hudson
heading east along Sinatra Drive.

In an effort to help promote the arts and the efforts of local arts groups & businesses, Mayor Dawn Zimmer & the City of Hoboken are creating an Arts Resource Guide for Hoboken. There is no charge to sign up, and the information will be available for free on the City’s website. Whether you are an artist, crafter, musician, writer, actor, theatre group, etc, this is a great way to market what you do and a great way to promote the arts.
