This department plans and executes a wide range of community events throughout the year to promote the Arts, theater, family and music activities. Our diverse programming is designed to appeal to the entire community
and bring people together. We also provide assistance to local organizations for their annual Hoboken events.

 

Spring Arts & Music Festival 2012
Thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors and participants of this years festival. The weather was gorgeous and the festival was a huge success.

Citywide Yard Sale & Flea Market at Church Square Park -
Saturday, May 19th, 2011, 10am to 3pm; Takes place all over Hoboken.   There will be a Flea Market around Church Square Park as well. For more information, call 201-420-2207 or email us at gfallo@hobokennj.org to receive an application.

Next Gallery Walk: Sunday, May 20, 2012.  Occurring on the third Sunday of each month from 2 to 6 pm,
ten galleries and art spaces around Hoboken will hold special events and receptions in a coordinated tour de force. 3rd Sundays will highlight the work of local, regional and international artists. You will find a wealth of fantastic art in spaces whose atmospheres range from sophisticated to funky. Whatever your taste in fine art, you are sure to find something you love.

The Sounds of Hoboken: A Free Citywide Musical Celebration -
This free musical celebration that will take place all around the city on Sunday June 10th from 11am until 7pm.  On that day, dozens of public spaces will become impromptu stages for free concerts by local musicians.

Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse in partnership with the City of Hoboken and Downtown Boathouse of New York City will host free Kayaking Days throughout the summer at Maxwell Place Park near the intersection of Sinatra Drive and Maxwell Place.

Ragamuffin Parade

Line of march setup for the parade is on Washington St. & 13th Streets beginning at 3:30pm; parade begins at 4:00pm; Costume contest at Little League Field on 5th St. & River Terrace.

In an effort to help promote the arts and the efforts of local arts groups & businesses, Mayor Dawn Zimmer & the City of Hoboken are creating an Arts Resource Guide for Hoboken.
