The Hoboken Health Department operates pursuant to NJAC 8:52 (Public Health Performance Standards for Local Boards of Health) and NJSA Title 26 (Health and Vital Statistics). The Health Department is operated under the supervision of Frank Sasso, a Health Officer who is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.
Our goal is to protect the residents of Hoboken and the visiting public from hazards found in the environment, home, and workplace through appropriate surveillance, intervention, education, and outreach.

Inspections
A paramount responsibility of this department is to conduct scheduled and ad hoc inspections of restaurants, housing units, and other facilities which may pose a public health nuisance.
