Ten years ago, the Environment Committee of Hoboken, then headed by Donna Cahill and Cynthia Silber, started the Hoboken Farmer's Market. Councilman Michael Cricco sponsored the Resolution establishing both its existence and location. Six familiar New Jersey Fresh vendors will welcome shoppers: K&S Farms of Cream Ridge, Union Hill Farms of Denville, organic baker The Bread Company of Montclair, Melick's Town Farms of Oldwick, organic Old Hook Farms of Emerson, Pickelicious of Leonia, and Nutritionist Anne Traubin of Jersey City.
Hoboken residents, Robin Whitney, Jane Silane and Ann Marie Manca have and continue to volunteer their time to keep the Farmers’ Market the success it has become.

The City of Hoboken’s Parks Department and Parking Utility have also been essential to the market’s operation.

"The Hoboken Farmer's Market really serves three purposes. It helps small farmers in New Jersey sell their produce, by giving them a venue they would otherwise not have. Local fresh fruits and vegetables are brought to the residents of Hoboken by the people that actually harvest them. And last but certainly not least the Hoboken Farmer's Market has served as a gathering place for the community, where people exchange smiles, thoughts, and recipes."

"If you don't get it locally, you just don't get it."

-David Calamoneri
Manager for the Hoboken Farmers' Market since 1996

** Due to the condition of the Clam Broth House property, the Hoboken Farmers’ Market has been temporarily moved to Washington Street between Newark Street and Observer Highway.
