Kayaking Days at Maxwell Place Park

Stay tuned for next year’s�Summer 2010 Kayaking Day at the Maxwell Place Boathouse will take place TBA.

The�Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse�� in partnership with Acting Mayor�Dawn Zimmer, the City of Hoboken and�Downtown Boathouse of New York City � has sponsored free kayaking in�Hoboken for the past six years, serving over 3,100 paddlers. The�Hoboken Boathouse is a non-profit organization supported by�volunteers, boathouse space from the City of Hoboken, and borrowed�kayaking equipment from the Downtown Boathouse.

Kayaking Days offer a unique opportunity for Hoboken residents and�visitors to experience the city from the Hudson River. The programs�are free, open to all, and require no reservations. Trained kayakers�will be on-hand to provide tips for new paddlers. The boathouse is�located in Maxwell Place Park near the intersection of Sinatra Drive�and Maxwell Place (metered parking is available on the east side of�Sinatra Drive).

Free Kayaking Days Schedule:

Saturday, July 11, 10am-2pm

Saturday, July 25, 10am-2pm

Saturday, August 15, 1pm-5pm

Please note that all programs are tentative and based on weather and water conditions, and are subject to canncellation. *No reservations required.�These sit-on-top kayaks are fun and easy. No experience required-but you must know how to swim.

The paddlers kayak in the boundaries of the embayment at Maxwell Place Park. Experienced kayakers patrol the area of the embayment.�Kids under 16 can go for a paddle in a safe, stable 2-person sit-on-top kayak (along with a parent or responsible adult). �Double and single kayaks are available. Life-vests, paddles and boats are supplied! Wear water shoes or sandals and clothes that dry fast.
